BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A man broke into a Bellingham home Tuesday, according to police, assaulted a man and attempted to steal a backpack filled with the man’s stuff.
Officers arrested Micheal Jones.
Police say the Bellingham man broke into a house on Northwest Avenue near Shuksan Middle School just before midnight.
They say Jones hit the homeowner in the chest after he was caught red-handed with the backpack.
Police say the homeowner was able to keep Jones from leaving until they arrived.
