WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – The Whatcom County Health Department says August was the second-worst month for coronavirus infections in the county.
There were six deaths due to COVID-19 in August, bringing that total in Whatcom County to 116.
Daily COVID case numbers also reached near-record highs in August, second only to January’s numbers.
The local case rate remains below the state’s average of 1.2%.
