MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Bail has been lowered for the woman accused of a Skagit County shooting last week that was sparked by the theft of a political sign.
55-year-old Angela Conijn is charged with murder for killing 32-year-old Kamran Cohee.
Cohee’s boyfriend, Joshua Tryon, spoke with KING 5 and admits that he took the Culp for Governor sign when the couple stopped near Conijn’s home.
Conijn claims she shot the other woman in defense of her husband who was fighting with Tryon over the theft.
Tryon disputes that, saying that there was no way that it was self-defense as Cohee was shot near their truck which was nowhere near the house.
Prosecutors also say the fight was over when Conijn fired the fatal shot.
Her bail has been reduced from $500,000 to $250,000.
