BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A judge set bail at $1,000,000 for the Bellingham woman accused of murdering a Langley, Washington man and leaving his body in a park in Blaine.

Thomas Flood’s body was discovered in Semiahmoo Park on April 7th and his van with a pool of blood in it was later found in Fairhaven.

Court documents state that surveillance video, tips from witnesses, bullets, blood and other evidence led investigators to 62-year-old Lynda Clare Mercy.

A witness reported that she was seen arguing with Flood near where he slept in the van in Langley early on April 6th.

Mercy was also spotted in Blaine on the day the body was found.

Acquaintances and social media posts indicate Mercy had a recent change in mental state and an increasing fascination with violence.

Investigators haven’t disclosed a direct motive for the killing.
