NEW YORK, N.Y. — Hackers have likely stolen personal information from customers of Barnes & Noble.

The book retailer sent an email to customers Wednesday informing them that the company experienced a cybersecurity attack which they say resulted in unauthorized and unlawful access to certain Barnes & Noble corporate systems.

The company says there has been no compromise of financial data, but the systems impacted did contain email addresses and possibly billing and shipping addresses along with telephone numbers.

CNN says that information could be sold to hackers on the black market.
