BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Base Camp homeless center in downtown Bellingham saw 16 positive COVID cases last week.
On December 23rd, two guests tested positive and facility-wide testing revealed 14 more cases.
Everyone who tested positive was transferred to Bellingham’s isolation and quarantine facility.
Lighthouse Ministry’s Bridget Reeves says they’re working with the health department to keep guests safe and they’re still offering shelter from the frigid temperatures this week.
They’re urging people to take shelter from the cold and welcome everyone pending a negative COVID test.
None of the Base Camp staff tested positive.
