BELLEVUE, Wash. – The occupants of eight houses have been evacuated after a home slid off its foundation in a Bellevue neighborhood Monday, January 17th.

KOMO reports two people were rescued uninjured after the early-morning incident.

A Bellevue police spokesperson says they’re lucky.

“It does not look like any other homes have been damaged except the one,” said the spokesperson. “Which is really good news. Of course, the best news of all is that nobody was injured and it was miraculous with those two people inside the home.”

While only one house was affected, access to the other houses in the neighborhood is still unsafe.

Investigators believe a water main break is to blame for the flooding that caused the collapse.
