BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bellingham and Whatcom County will be hosting forums where you can offer your ideas on race and justice.

Bellingham Mayor Seth Fleetwood helped organize the sessions that start Tuesday, July 28.

He calls them the first step in ending structural racism “in our organizations and our community.”

Leaders from Bellingham, Whatcom County, Bellingham Police, the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Department, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Lummi Nation and Western Washington University will be taking part.

The Zoom meetings will be open to the public and available on computers, cellphones, tablets, dial-up phones and broadcast live on BTV and the city’s YouTube channel.

The four sessions are scheduled for:

7:00-9:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 28

6:00-8:00, Monday, August 10

11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 15

5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 18.
