BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Dick Meyer passed away Monday, November 30th, at home after watching his beloved Seahawks win on Monday Night Football, according to an on-line obituary.
He was surrounded by family and friends.
The owner of Dewey Griffin Subaru was born in 1939 and owned several auto dealerships during his long career in the industry.
He and his businesses have been constantly involved in charity work throughout Whatcom County, especially with programs benefitting youth and the elderly.
Whatcom Dream, Blue Skies for Children, the Ferndale Foodbank and Meals On Wheels were just a few of his favorite charities.
The thousands of dollars worth of free vehicle maintenance he and his dealership gave to local first responders and health care workers during the pandemic is another example of how he loved to give back to the community.
His family asks that people share thoughts, memories and photos of Dick in his online guestbook here.
