Local band of hometown heroes Sam & the Savages are moving up in a National iHeart Media music competition.
Longtime Bellingham musicians Sam Chue, and Caleb and Eli Savage were chosen as the Seattle-area winner of the iHeart Radio Jack Daniels Battle of the Bar Bands competition, and now move on to the National division.
Their winning song, Melatonin is off of their “Light EP”, and was self-recorded by the band on an Orcas Ranch
Their indie rock group was chosen from over 50 bands from the Seattle-area, and now only 46 bands remain in the nationwide contest.
The winning band will receive $10,000, the opportunity to perform on an iHeart Media stage, as well as roundtrip airfare and accommodations.
Voting for finalists is open now until July 25th.
Each voter is allowed one vote per day, with each vote entering you into a chance to win $500.
