The Bellingham Bells had 8 former players drafted in the just completed Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.  Catcher David Banuelos, who played in Bellingham last year, went in the 5th round to the Seattle Mariners. Washington Husky outfielder Jack Meggs went in the 10th round to Oakland. Meggs played for the Bells in 2013.

Spencer Howard played two years with Bellingham in 2015 and 2016. He was the highest pick of former Bells.  The pitcher went in the second round to the Phillies with the 45th selection.

Seattle native Andrew Summerville was picked by the Cardinals in the 12th round. The pitcher spent 2 summers with the Bells in 2014 and 2015.

Bells Vice President Nick Caples told KPUG that  following Wednesday’s selections, 13 players from the Bells 2014 West Coast League Championship team have been drafted.
