BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The City of Bellingham’s public works director is leaving for a position at a local business.
After 12 years with the City of Bellingham, Ted Carlson is shifting gears to become the general manager for Sanitary Services Company, effective August 15.
Bellingham Mayor Kelli Linville is expected to name an interim Public Works director soon and she’ll begin a national search for a permanent replacement.
Linville says Carlson oversaw many essential projects, including the redevelopment of our waterfront as well as several sewer and water plant additions and renovations.
He also reorganized the department to increase focus on natural resources.
