BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham City Council moved forward on a Climate Protection Action Plan at its Monday night meeting.
The council passed a resolution to create a Climate Action Plan Task Force to consider ways to reduce the city’s carbon footprint.
The goal is to power the city with 100 percent renewable energy by 2030.
The Task Force will be expected to report to the council in the fourth quarter of 2019.
