Union workers at Bellingham Cold Storage are back on the picket line this morning, this time indefinitely.

Teamsters Local 231 Secretary Treasurer Rich Ewing says the company has been dragging its feet on negotiations since the workers walked off the job for 30-hours back in June.

He says the company won’t give workers a specific date on when talks can begin with the help of a federal mediator.

And he says the company hasn’t indicated a willingness to budge on any of its positions in a new contract including health care cost sharing, retirement and other issues.

Bellingham Cold Storage has said it respects employees’ right to strike peacefully but it will do what it must to continue operations and serve its customers.
