BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The City of Bellingham and the Port of Bellingham are now subscribers to Puget Sound Energy’s renewable wind and solar energy program, Green Direct.
The program is meant to allow commercial and governmental customers to get 100% of their energy from local, renewable energy sources.
Earlier this year, PSE asked for renewable energy project proposals to replace what they have been getting from their coal power plant in Montana.
Whatcom County and Western Washington University have also joined Green Direct, with its solar project planned to go online in 2021.
