BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Journalists at the Bellingham Herald are unionizing.
The News Tribune, The Olympian and the Tri-City Herald journalists are also part of the effort.
All papers are owned by the McClatchy Company.
Staff members have signed up for representation by the Pacific Northwest Newspaper Guild.
Organizers say the four newsrooms do not reflect the communities they serve, and that needs to change.
