BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Some changes at the top for The Bellingham Herald.

The paper reports Publisher Mark Owings is leaving the company on May 5th.

He’s been with The Herald since 1998.

David Zeeck, the president and publisher of The News Tribune in Tacoma and The Olympian, will now also lead the Herald.

McClatchy owns all three papers.

The company’s other Washington State paper – the Tri-City Herald – is also losing its publisher on May 5th.

That paper reports Gregg McConnell plans to retire and the publisher of McClatchy’s Idaho Statesman will take over.
