BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham has a new staff member to help them combat climate change.

The City of Bellingham hired Seth Vidana as its first-ever Climate and Energy Manager.

Bellingham City Council approved funding for the new position in its 2019-2020 budget to address the City’s need for additional staff as they work toward reducing municipal and community greenhouse gas emissions.

Vidana comes with over a decade of experience at Western Washington University where he worked to create a sustainable and energy-conscious community and served as the Director of the Office of Sustainability.

Starting February 18, he will work in the City’s Public Works Natural Resources Division.
