BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A significant increase in local COVID-19 infection rates has prompted Bellingham’s hospital to reset visitation limits.

PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center says as of Tuesday, May 3rd, just one relative or support person will be allowed to visit a patient in the hospital within a 24-hour period.

No visitations will be allowed for COVID-19 patients with some exceptions.

All visitors must wear a blue surgical mask that the hospital provides or their own N95 or KN95 mask, while in the facility.

While local case rates remain well below the highs of January and early February, they are more than double the rates in late March.
