BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Bellingham Library returns to curbside-only service this week.

The library says on its website that the current surge of COVID-19 fueled by the omicron variant is prompting the move.

The library will be closed Tuesday, January 18th, but staff will be available to assist by phone from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Curbside service will then be offered only at the main library downtown beginning Wednesday.

The Fairhaven and Barkley branches will be closed until further notice.

The service change does not affect Whatcom County libraries, which are a separate system.
