BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham man faces federal charges for attempting to sexually assault who he thought was an 8-year-old girl.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Seattle says 27-year-old Clayton Harker actually came to investigators’ attention as they pursued another subject.
That person claimed on Snapchat that he was hiring models and pressured young people to send him explicit images.
He was found to have contacts with Harer.
At that point, investigators began communicating with Harker directly.
One posed as an adult with a niece Harker could abuse and another posed as the 8-year-old.
Agents arrested Harker as he arrived at a Bellingham hotel on Tuesday, December 20th, expecting to molest the girl and record the act.
