BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham man has pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted child rape after he was caught in a State Patrol sting in 2017.
Simson Assink made the plea in Whatcom County Superior Court on Tuesday, October 12th.
Court records show Assink replied to a Craig’s List ad offering relations with young girls but was actually communicating with an officer.
He was arrested when he arrived at a predetermined meeting place in Whatcom County.
He’ll be sentenced in November.
