BELLINGHAM, Wash – A Bellingham man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for raping a woman in a Samish Way Motel.
Eric Ortiz went with his then-former fiancee’ to the Bay City Motor Inn under false pretenses and asked her for sex.
When the victim refused, he choked her and raped her.
The Bellingham Herald reports Ortiz, who has a long documented history of domestic abuse, has since re-married for a third time while in jail.
Ortiz says he plans to join his third wife after he is released.
