Bellingham Municipal Court Judge Debra Lev annouced the Municipal Court Building will partially reopen beginning today (Tuesday).
On June 22nd, Judge Lev ordered the court open on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons for in-person court sessions involving hearings for criminal defendants who are not in custody.
Bellingham Municipal Court has used video conferencing and telephonic hearings to hold sessions safely during the pandemic, broadcasting hearings live via its website and YouTube page to ensure public access.
The court will continue telephonic hearings, but in-person appearances are now available as well.
