Another animal from Bellingham has made the news.
Q-13 Fox highlighted Bellingham-based Brigadoon Service Dogs, a nonprofit providing service dogs for veterans and people with disabilities.
The news station focused on the story of US Navy veteran David Umphenour and his new service dog, Oscar.
Umphenour served for 13 years until a rare allergy affected his health, forcing him to retire.
Now, Oscar is helping him lead a happier and healthier life and Umphenour says “it’s meant to be.”
