BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The future of a new Whatcom County jail remains up in the air as the Bellingham City Council asks for some answers from the County Council.
The City Council still has questions about care and alternatives for the mentally ill and jail size.
The City Council also has questions about location, costs and other issues.
It wants a response from the County Council before it signs off on a jail agreement.
The County told all the cities they have until the end of this month to sign its latest proposal.
