BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Bellingham Police Department is welcoming new officers to its ranks.

BPD’s newest academy graduates were sworn in by Bellingham Municipal Court Judge Debra Lev and were welcomed by Police Chief Flo Simon on Thursday, June 3.

Officer M. Sanborn grew up in Whatcom County, graduated from WWU and served in the U.S. Army.

Officer S. Sparber also grew up in Whatcom County and attended WCC for a Criminal Justice degree.

Officer T. Thompson was born and raised in Marysville and served as squad leader for his Basic Law Enforcement Academy class, graduating third in academics and second overall.

Officer J. Ng, originally from Toronto, Canada, served as Vice President for his Academy class and is following in his grandfather’s footsteps into law enforcement.
