BELLINGHAM, Wash. – You can help police find a man wanted for questioning in a Bellingham hate crime case.

The possible hate crime happened early Sunday morning on Railroad Avenue, Bellingham Police spokesperson Danette Beckley said.

“We believe it’s possible this person was assaulted merely because of what the assumed sexual orientation was, what the suspect assumed the victim’s sexual orientation was,” she said.

The suspect said something about the victim’s sexual orientation and then pushed the 23-year-old man to the ground, according to Beckley.

He was treated at the scene for minor head injuries.
