BELLINGHAM, Wash. — There has been some police activity at the homeless encampment outside Bellingham City Hall.
Lieutenant Claudia Murphy with the Bellingham Police Department says officers responded to a crash in the 200 block of Lottie Street at about 10 p.m. Monday night.
A vehicle reportedly struck a person who was sleeping on the street while the driver was turning around.
Medics determined the victim was not seriously hurt.
Then about 12 hours later, Murphy says officers were called to that same area for a report of a fight in the homeless encampment.
Officers determined that the fight started when a woman pepper sprayed someone over a pack of cigarettes.
