BELLINGHAM, Wash – A domestic dispute gone wrong has landed a Port Of Bellingham Commissioner candidate in jail.
The Bellingham Herald reports Nicholas Kunkel was arrested on felony charges early Friday after allegedly choking his wife during an argument.
Kunkel, a libertarian, ran for the state house in 2014 and lost.
Bail was set at $20,000; Kunkel says he plans to move to Skagit County if he is released.
