Bellingham Police Department promoted four officers on August 31, 2021.

Officer Damon Landry was promoted to Corporal, working as a secondary supervisor over a patrol division. Corporal Landry has worked in law enforcement for 19 ½ years.

Corporal Dante Alexander was promoted to Sergeant, working as a lead supervisor over a patrol division. Sergeant Alexander has worked in law enforcement for 15 years.

Sergeant Jay Hart was promoted to Lieutenant, who now oversees all patrol divisions. Lieutenant Hart has worked in law enforcement for 22 years.

Lieutenant Dave Crass was promoted to Deputy Chief, which oversees all public service including dispatch and public records. Deputy Chief Crass has worked in law enforcement for over 25 years.

Chief Flo Simon passed out the certificates of promotions during a short, outdoor ceremony. Chief Simon has mentioned these days are exceedingly important to her as she gets to have a part in shaping the future leadership of our department.
