The Bellingham City Council will hold a public hearing Monday on a proposed ordinance that would ban income discrimination for rental properties.
The ordinance was prompted by complaints that some landlords were refusing low income renters who receive Section 8 vouchers that assist with paying rent.
The ordinance would also increase the notice period before landlords make a substantial rent increase or evict a tenant.
The City Council meeting starts at 7 p.m.
