BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Big updates are in store for Bellingham schools.
Superintendent Greg Baker says they are moving their district office from Dupont Street to the Barkley area for financial savings and better accommodation for future growth, anticipating construction to begin in about two years.
More plans are in the works for a bus barn renovation, a new auxiliary gym at Shuksan Middle School, a replacement for Parkview and Alderwood Elementary Schools, and a new Sunnyland Elementary.
These changes are covered by bond measures already passed by the public in 2018 and 2013.
