BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham Schools recently asked families about their experience with distance learning and getting students back in the classroom.

A majority of families say they’re satisfied or at least slightly satisfied with communication with their child’s school or teacher, remote learning opportunities, tech support, access to supplies and lesson materials and meals.

When it comes to getting kids back in school, about 46% say they’re comfortable or very comfortable with a return to the classroom while about 41% say they’d be uncomfortable or extremely uncomfortable.

Most respondents also said they feel it’s somewhat to extremely urgent to get kids back in school, but the biggest worry is keeping them socially distant during the school day.
