OLYMPIA, Wash. — Remote video testimony is coming to the Washington State House of Representatives and Bellingham is among the test cities.

The House Executive Rules Committee recently approved a remote testimony pilot for the 2020 legislative session, expanding opportunities for citizens statewide to participate in the legislative process without traveling to Olympia.

Using videoconferencing technology, the public will be able to testify remotely on proposed legislation from one of four locations, including Bellingham.

The other locations include Ellensburg, Spokane, and the Tri-Cities.

The pilot project will be evaluated and a report provided to the Executive Rules Committee by July 1st.
