BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A stabbing in a hotel parking garage led to the recent arrest of a Bellingham woman.

The victim’s boyfriend reported the incident to staff at the Chrysallis Inn and Spa early Tuesday, July 5th, according to court documents.

The suspect, 23-year-old Emily Brackinreed, claimed that she was waiting to meet someone in the garage when she was attacked by the victim through the window of her car.

Brackinreed said she pulled out a knife to defend herself until the two women were separated by the victim’s boyfriend.

However, surveillance video showed Brackinreed getting out of the car and instigating the fight by stabbing the victim in the chest.

Brackinreed then threw the victim to the ground and stabbed her again in the thigh.

The victim was treated by medics at a nearby gas station for her injuries.

Brackinreed remains behind bars on $25,000 bail.
