BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A woman is in the hospital with a serious brain injury and police say a man is in jail for pushing her out of a moving vehicle.
Officers responded to a woman being pushed out of a truck at Railroad and Magnolia in downtown Bellingham early Tuesday and found a 29-year-old woman unresponsive in a crosswalk.
They identified a suspect by interviewing witnesses and reviewing city camera footage and arrested 34-year-old Justin Connors-Driftmier Tuesday evening.
Investigators say Connors-Driftmier and the woman had been in a relationship for about two years but just recently broke up.
He faces a Domestic Violence Assault charge.
