BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The owners of Woodsmiths are retiring.
Brothers Monte and Ron Smith opened the furniture store in Burlington but moved to Bellingham in 1981.
The Bellingham Herald reported it was originally called The Unfinished Store, but the brothers realized customers preferred finished furniture and changed the name to Woodsmiths.
The store has had a number of locations over the years, but has been on Cornwall across from Bellingham High School since 1997.
The brothers said they’re ready to try new things after running the same business for so long.
