BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham Fire Department is facing a fourth lawsuit in the case of a dead man being used for medical training.

The Seattle Times reports that Bradley Ginn Sr.’s brother has filed a federal lawsuit over the 2018 incident in which fire personnel and other employees practiced inserting endotracheal tubes into Ginn’s body after he had died in an ambulance.

The department has already paid $75,000 settlements to two of Ginn’s adult children and faces a $15 million dollar lawsuit from his widow.

An investigation into the incident found similar training had been conducted in the past, and resulted in the resignations of the department’s Medical Services Director and an EMS captain.

Nine other employees were disciplined.
