BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Temperatures are climbing as July wraps up, and while cities closer to the water can expect highs in the low-to-mid-80s, north and east county should be prepared for highs reaching 90.
The National Weather Service says Whatcom County is looking dry and warm for at least the next week.
It will be ten to fifteen degrees hotter than normal in north and east county thanks to a strong push of hot air coming from the southwest.
Residents are urged to stay hydrated and be cautious while working or playing outside to avoid heat exhaustion or stroke.
Temperatures are expected to drop rather quickly to the mid-70s as we kick off August.
