BLAINE, Wash. – Border officers in Blaine found more than 53-pounds of methamphetamine in a man’s car as he tried to cross into the U-S.

Customs and Border Protection says the 40-year-old man and his passenger tried to pass into Whatcom County Saturday morning when officers decided to inspect the car further.

They found seven packages of meth in a hidden compartment in the car.

Officers seized the car and arrested the two men who now face federal charges in Seattle.
