BLAINE, Wash. – After months of searching, the city of Blaine has found a location for the first mural of their downtown arts project.
Initially voted on a year ago, the plan was to have three new murals decorating the downtown area by May of this year.
That deadline has been delayed after the city has had trouble finding any businesses willing to put the art project on it’s walls.
The North Whatcom Law building on H and 3rd Streets is the first building to give the go ahead and The Northern Light reports the publication will soon put out a request for artists to create a design to highlight the city’s maritime history.
After an artist has come up with 3 different designs the public will vote for the final choice.
