BLAINE, Wash. – A local car dealership has been reunited with one of four vehicles that were recently stolen.

Court documents state that officers were called to investigate a break-in at Royal Emerald Motors in Blaine on March 31st.

Investigators found that the business’ lock had been cut and four vehicles had been stolen sometime overnight.

One of those vehicles was later seen stopped at an intersection.

The driver, 30-year-old Brandon Heggem, told a witness that the car had run out of gas.

After surveillance photos from a nearby gas station were posted online, Heggem was quickly identified by his mother.

The vehicle was later recovered from a home on Birch Bay Lynden Road.

Heggem was arrested on Monday, April 4th, and was released two days later.
