BLAINE, Wash. — The environmental report for a cleanup site near Blaine Marine Park on the north end of Drayton Harbor is ready for public review.

According to the Department of Ecology, the contamination at the Westman Marine site is the result of historical boat maintenance and repair operations.

Contaminant levels are potentially harmful.

With Ecology oversight, the Port of Bellingham prepared a report that describes contamination at the site and evaluates cleanup options.

The public is invited to join a walking tour of the site at noon on September 4th.
