BLAINE, Wash. — The Blaine City Council unanimously approved a resolution to contribute land and cash to help cover the cost of a large stormwater pond being constructed on the old municipal airport site, also known as the Gateway project.

The City will contribute the land for the pond and pay $212,000 in city funds.

City Manager Michael Jones told The Northern Light the city decided to take action now to create more certainty for property owners and for potential buyers in the Gateway project.

This passed at the City Council’s February 10th meeting.
