BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Students in the Blaine School District will be returning to classrooms on a hybrid schedule with a new 3-foot distancing rule in place.

The Northern Light reports the district expects to bring all hybrid students back starting April 19.

Superintendent Christopher Granger said the district is planning to have all students back in the classroom in the fall, and said returning all students looks possible with the rule change, schedule rearrangements, classroom size adjustments and low enrollment.

Meanwhile, Ferndale Schools continued to update on their plans to expand in-person learning.

Superintendent Linda Quinn in the weekly re-opening update call Thursday said the District has a draft plan that includes a date to return to 5-day in person learning.

She said the plan is undergoing staff review and expects to send a letter to Ferndale Schools families Friday.
