BLAINE, Wash. — A teen gymnast from Blaine has made her mark in the USA Gymnastics regional championships.
The Northern Light reports 14-year-old Sam Toepper came back from multiple injuries to compete this year’s championships in Montana.
Toepper placed eighth overall among Level 7 competitors and fifth for her floor routine.
She was competing against gymnasts from Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Hawaii and Alaska.
Toepper will now advance to training for Level 8 competitions next spring.
