BLAINE, Wash. – Improvements that could provide a boost to Blaine’s economy are on the way for Blaine Harbor.
The Port of Bellingham will pay American Construction of Tacoma $750,000 to rehab three deteriorated piers.
The project will open up additional dock space and allow more weight on the piers for fishing boats and other industries.
The Port says there’s an increase in demand for marine industrial property in Blaine Harbor.
The Commission recently approved a lease with Sundance Marine Holdings for a $9 million boat storage facility.
