BELLINGHAM, Wash. –  Blaine man wanted for an armed robbery earlier this month is in custody after a wild chase last Thursday, April 21st.

Bellingham Police had been looking for 29-year-old James Discher after workers at Winco Foods reported that he threatened them with a gun while stealing merchandise on April 6th.

They located him in a vehicle on Primrose Lane on Thursday and tried to contact him.

He took off, driving onto a sidewalk to get around traffic and then at a high rate of speed down Meridian and onto McLeod.

Officers called off the pursuit but they were later called to a home on Jones Lane.

The owner said someone drove onto their property and threw a tarp over their car.

Officers found Discher hiding in one of the property owner’s vehicles.
