BLAINE, Wash. – A Blaine man is in custody after allegedly raping a child in his care.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies spoke with the victim’s mother, who said that the assault likely occurred on November 4th.
Investigators said that the suspect entered the victim’s room, woke her up, and assaulted her while her mother was at work.
A witness added that the child was acting strangely the day after the assault.
The suspect, 20-year-old Fredy Martin Esteban, was arrested on November 11th.
He remains at the Whatcom County Jail on over $200,000 bail.
